Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory hits the road with an interactive baseball experience created exclusively for fans attending the annual Sox Fest 2019 at the Hilton Chicago, taking place the weekend of January 25th – 27th.
The interactive “Mobile Museum” is highlighted by a game-used “Shoeless” Joe Jackson bat and also features Jose Abreu’s Silver Slugger Award, which will be available for fan photos. In addition, there will be bat-making demonstrations where the museum showcases the “old-fashioned” way of making a bat by hand.
Other highlights include an oversized White Sox LEGO helmet, replica bats from Chicago’s favorite White Sox players, free museum passes, and fun photo opportunities with the museum’s giant five-foot bat and oversized glove.
There will also be signature rubbing boards allowing fans to make their own souvenir rubbing from the branded signatures of the White Sox greatest players. It’s a mobile museum version of Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory’s esteemed Signature Wall.
“We’re excited to return to SoxFest and meet Chicago baseball fans who share the same passion for America’s pastime as we do at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory,” said Anne Jewell, Vice President and Executive Director of Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. “Our Mobile Museum is an interactive fan exhibit that has been custom-built for this year’s event. With historic items from White Sox teams both current and past, our exhibit will be a treat for all generations of the franchise,” she said.
Fans attending Sox Fest 2019 will also have the opportunity to win great one-of-a-kind items like a personalized Louisville Slugger baseball bat.
Fans Can “Hold a Piece of History”
The interactive exhibit allows fans to “Hold a Piece of History,” with the rare opportunity to actually hold game-used bats from Chicago’s greatest players including Hall of Famers Harold Baines, Jim Thome and Frank Thomas. Game-used bats from fan favorites Dick Allen, Paul Konerko and Daniel Palka will also be on display.
