Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is channeling the Luck of the Irish for its first St. BATrick’s Day Weekend! From March 17th – 19th, guests wearing green get 2-for-1 admission. The first 100 factory tour guests each day also get a green St. BATrick’s Day special edition mini-bat, featuring a shamrock.
“Leprechauns all over Louisville have been shouting for us to make shillelaghs, but we’re too busy with Opening Day orders, so we crafted a limited number of these special mini-bats,” said Anne Jewell, VP and Executive Director at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. “St. BATrick’s Day Weekend celebrates all things Irish in America’s Pastime. It’s also a terrific deal for LEGO® fans to check out our latest exhibit, Big Leagues, Little Bricks and all of its spectacular baseball artwork made from LEGO pieces,” she added.
Tours of the attraction’s hallowed Bat Vault will feature an Irish twist. Guests can “Hold a Piece of History” in the vault, where game-used and replica bats from some of baseball’s greatest Irish-American players such as Brian McCann, Paul O’Neil, Daniel Murphy and more will be highlighted. The original bat contract for Chicago White Sox legend and 1917 World Series Champion, Eddie Collins, will also be displayed. Plenty of “hot potato” – baseball style – will be played for prizes, and a new Signature Wall Spotlight program will spin little-known stories about Irish players on the museum’s revered Signature Wall.
For LEGO fans, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory recently opened Big Leagues, Little Bricks, an amazing exhibit that features hip portraits of baseball superstars, dynamic sculptures of iconic baseball moments, and show-stopping replicas of baseball stadiums like Great American Ballpark, Wrigley Field and Busch Stadium. The stunning show is included in the general admission price of the museum.
